WoW YouTube Settings

The key to making WoW videos for YouTube is all in the format that you use to encode the movie. There are really two formats that I use. I have one set of settings for regular YouTube videos, and I have a second set I use for standard YouTube videos.

The steps to making a good WoW video:

Step 1:

Record the video using Fraps. If possible record the video to a different hard drive than the one you are running WoW off of.

Step 2:

I edit the movie using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. With this program you can easily put in titles, music, and all the other cool effect you want.

Step 3:

When you are finished editing the movie. You want to export the movie to Abode Media Encoder CS4. This is included with the Premiere Pro software, but it’s a separate program. I’ve learned also that while the movie is encoding with this program don’t touch your computer unless you have a really strong system. Trying to surf the net and stuff will screw up your video. Basically when you are ready to encode your movie, start Adobe Media Encoder and walk away. I personally do it at night while I’m asleep. It can take 2 or more hours per video that you encode and you can que up many videos at once. So while you’re sleeping your PC can be encoding 4 or 5 videos for you.
