World of Warcraft Profession Guide: Leatherworking 1 - 375

Before leveling leatherworking there are a few things you need to keep in mind. There are three different types of leatherworking specialties; Dragonscale, Elemental, and Tribal. Each one offers special items only available to that tree. Furthermore leatherworking is similar to tailoring in that no special tools are required, only raw materials. One interesting aspect to this skill is the ability to use drums that give a short duration group buff.

An excellent skill to have that supplements leatherworking is skinning. You may want to consider learning it as well in order to supply some of your raw materials. It will also provide you with a nice income from raw material sales.

If possible before you begin leveling leatherworking it may be wise to gather your raw materials beforehand. This guides uses leather types that are easy to get, and trainer taught recipes, in order to save gold where possible. Here is a list of the leathers you are going to need.
