This is a new artical im guiding new/old players to maxamising and making the best out of your selected professions. Please feel free of stop following this guide is you want. I don’t have any current plan on when I am going update the next “Beginner’s professions guide” but I hope to get each out every week.

Now starting from a new persons perspective, you just entered World of Warcraft and your wondering how to make gold to buy new Gear, Talents or your mount. you can easily do this buy farming mobs, daily’s or putting stuff that you do not need but someone else might. So lets get to the base of this… Professions, Professions and Professions there’s a little bit you will need to know before getting stuck in, You can only have 2 main professions and 3 secondary professions ( 4 in cataclysm). The main professions are split into two category’s crafting (Blacksmithing, Leather working, Tailoring, Alchemy, Jewlcrafting, Inscription, Engineering and Enchanting) and gathering (Mining, Skinning and herbalism). The gathering professions are mainly used to collect the right materials you need for you crafting professions e.g. Blacksmithing will need mining to gather ores plus the gathering profession also gives you a buff that I will cover some other time.

The main idea’s when selecting your professions is having one gathering and one crafting, you can pick what ever profession that suits you or your characters needs weather its crafting new gear or just making gold. just rember if you do select one gathering and one crafting professions it is best idea to make sure your gathering profession collects the right materials you need for your crafting professions, Not all professions do need gathering professions to be  crafted because the materials drop of mobs, chests etc. this goes for tailoring and enchanting because tailoring requires cloth and that drops from mobs in set level zone so the higher level zone your in determines the quality of cloth that drops.

The baseline of selecting your professions is selecting your goal and what you prefer to do because some of the professions are annoying to level up and don’t give you max results for doing so  and thats where this will help you, so stay tuned for the next part.
