WoW Gold Sellers Steal From You and Your Friends

Gold Farmer Spam

We have all heard, and seen, the spam that comes from gold sellers in the game. A lot of them advertise their sites, trying to solicit business from players to buy their gold or power leveling services. Some people are tempted to use the services, but they don’t realize the cost of these services or the danger.

I’m sure everyone has heard of the Chinese gold farmers, but while that is a running joke in WoW, most people don’t understand what’s really going on in the background. Gold selling companies have been proven to be the ones that routinely hack player’s accounts. I have several friends, whose accounts have been hacked, and they lost all of their gold, and many of their items were disenchanted or vendored. They were the innocent victims of fraudulent e-mails that look like they came from Blizzard, but in fact were from gold selling companies attempting to hack their account.

What many don’t realize is that if you use power leveling services or buy gold, you are opening yourself up to possible attacks from gold selling services. As has been pointed out by Blizzard, people who use power leveling services are usually hacked several months later and their accounts are stripped of gold and items. Also people that buy gold are in fact buying gold that was most likely stolen from other innocent players, and are in fact keeping account hacking companies in service by doing business with them.

Since I have been operating this site, almost on a weekly basis, gold seller sites try to solicit me to place banner advertisements on WoWGuideOnline.com, but I reject their offers. I refuse to place their advertisements on my site because I have had multiple friends lose everything because of gold selling companies hacking their accounts, and on one occasion they tried to hack my account.

Blizzard has written an excellent article on the truth about gold selling and power leveling companies. I highly suggest everyone read it. Here is a link to it: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html

LOLWoWCats

So I was surfing the web today and I ran across this video from YouTube. It’s one of those funny lolcat videos. It tells the story of the casual versus the hardcore and the efforts by Blizz to cater to the casual. I love these things! The cats always seems to have some of the funniest faces. It reminds me a lot of my cat and his antics. What more could you ask for? World of Warcraft and funny cats!
